Caymas 2024, When is CayMas 2024, Caymas carnival costume, Carnival in the Cayman Islands, Cayman Islands Carnival, Cayman Islands Carnival Costume
The Cayman Islands is known for its pristine waters and stunning beaches. But people are SERIOUSLY sleeping on Carnival in the Cayman Islands! Here are four basic things you need to know about CayMas 2024 to start planning your trip.
Caymas 2024 is scheduled for Saturday, June 29th.
Getting to the Cayman Islands
There are three airports in the Cayman Islands. The biggest airport is Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM). Â
When I planned my trip for 2023, I found that the plane tickets were reasonably priced under $500, and cheaper than flying to Houston that weekend for its Carnival.
Plenty of tourism activities
According to US News, the Cayman Islands is one of the top 10 islands countries you should consider visiting in 2024. I strongly recommend you consider arriving several days before the parade day to take in all the Cayman Islands has to offer. Â
The island country is noted to have some of the most scnenic beaches to rest and play. The Cayman Islands is also well known for its dive sites. If you want to play it safe, there are plenty tours to stingray city where you get to feed and cuddle a stingray! Other activities include:
- Crystal Caves
- Bioluminescence Tours
- Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Park
- Pedro Saint James Castle
- Cayman Spirits Co. Distillery
Reasonable Accomodations available
The US dollar is a little weak to the Cayman dollar, but you can still find reasonable accommodations for your next stay. Ironically, hotel prices are cheaper in the summer. I strongly recommend you stay near seven mile beach (West Bay). Some recommended places include:
- Kimpton Seafire Resort – My favorite!
- The Westin Grand Cayman 7 Mile Beach
- Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman
- Holiday Inn Resort – significantly cheaper, but away from 7 mile beach.
The costumes are budget-friendly
This year I spent a little over $800 USD on a frontline costume, which is significantly cheaper than playing at most major Carnival events in the United States and abroad. If you are looking for a budget-friendly jump with a beautiful view of the beach, CayMas is for you. The following bands (hyperlinks included) are listed in alphabetical order:
The bands have not launched yet, but I am eagerly planning my return to the Cayman Islands in 2024. If you have any questions or comments feel free to comment below!
